Wounds

Wounds

A Poem by Margaret Barton-Wahl
"

This is a very short poem that I wrote one Valentines Day when my dear husband insisted that along with his cologne, card and candy that I also write him an original poem. This is what came of my efforts...

"

They say that time heals all wounds.

I Can't believe that's true

For I'll be taking to my tomb

The wounds from loving YOU!

Margaret, this is powerful, in an easeful, subtle of ways, has a real impact,
what's defining is the way the specifics are open, causes the heart to look
inward and apply the meaning to one's own life and circumstances. Excellent job.

Really, Margaret. There are so many interpretations could be placed upon or woven into this poem and I daren't conject too far - but original, it certainly is, and much more personal than the sloppy schmalz found on commercial cards. Well done. Did he like it?
