InfinityA Poem by M.J. Gamboa. What would you do if your 'little infinity' started shrinking?
The city lights reflects in his eyes,
even though for him it's sunrise. Cigarette in hand, clouded by smoke, but through it she can still see his eyes. They reminded her of wistful sighs and restless windy nights. - Good byes. Honestly she thought that sparks couldn't burst, for someone who thinks in black and white. ''Look at the sky tonight'' She hoped he would only see her eyes. ''The city lights are dancing the stars are crashing down, the smoke for your lips is drawing them down'' Her words were echoing - Echoing And he can't see past the corners ahead that have their own horror movie scene. Behind closed eyes, watching closely. Knowing but he refuse to see. The darkness in the night, as it crawls up through the smoke. And the the way her eyes go warm, despite how cold they usually stay. She grasps his hands, but he flinches away, because they still wore the hurt of yesterday. But it never really leaves him, that feeling has crawled beneath his skin. And there's no remedy for his memory. Or for the way She is realizing that their little infinity is quickly shrinking.
