The cobblestones of my life.A Poem by MagdelenaLetting the ghost out to fly away..
Naked, I lay across cobblestones cold and bare
Each stone representing an aspect of my life Cracks, jagged, are painful memories, dug deep within
Oh what a sin! For to carry such a burden. Fly away! I weep against the chilling air Such torture I can not bare. My body moves, feeling the stone beneath Smooth.. The roughened edges seeming to fade away The cobblestones of my life. I let my fingers trace the lines, gently, slowly Savoring the feeling. Coolness touching my fevered skin. Heart open, thoughts rush through me Taking me under its tidal wave of memory Blinding lights passing behind closed lids Colors flashing.. Speak to me... I whisper to the night Forgive me my sins Carry them across your broken back of misleading dreams. Deliver me towards the safety net of hope Promises made, Yes, I remember. Eyes open, I stare towards the soft rays of the moon How bright it is! My lips are moving.. A prayer? Then I smile The moon gently nods and sends its love Oh yes.. © 2011 MagdelenaReviews
