The cobblestones of my life.

The cobblestones of my life.

A Poem by Magdelena
"

Letting the ghost out to fly away..

"
Naked, I lay across cobblestones cold and bare
Each stone representing an aspect of my life
Cracks, jagged, are painful memories,
dug deep within
Oh what a sin!
For to carry such a burden.
Fly away!
I weep against the chilling air
Such torture I can not bare.
My body moves, feeling the stone beneath
Smooth..
The roughened edges seeming to fade away
The cobblestones of my life.
I let my fingers trace the lines, gently, slowly
Savoring the feeling.
Coolness touching my fevered skin.
Heart open, thoughts rush through me
Taking me under its tidal wave of memory
Blinding lights passing behind closed lids
Colors flashing..
Speak to me...
I whisper to the night
Forgive me my sins
Carry them across your broken back of misleading dreams.
Deliver me towards the safety net of hope
Promises made,
Yes, I remember.
Eyes open, I stare towards the soft rays of the moon
How bright it is!
My lips are moving..
A prayer?
Then I smile
The moon gently nods and sends its love
Oh yes..

I love the use of cobblestone to describe our imperfections but in the right light they can beocome our strengths. Very nice work.

I don't know. The releasing of sin and seeking forgiveness is a hard task. I like the use of the language allowing the reader to feel the baring of so much sins.
"Carry them across your broken back of misleading dreams.
Deliver me towards the safety net of hope
Promises made, "
A powerful poem with many messages in the words. I believe we must forgive our self then other people. Then we will be free. I like the ending to the outstanding poem. You made me think this evening.
