They were lost..

They were lost..

A Poem by Magdelena
"

The feelings of two souls searching for love, and finally finding it.

"

She met him on a warm summer night
The breeze soft, like a baby's breath
Touching her sweaty skin, cooling it
She watched him walking. His clothes clinging
To his form as he walked over to her, breath
held, she watched him move slowly her way
Till finally he stood in front of where she sat
The stars shone above, the rays of the moon
Glowing softly against the night sky. Teasing
Her senses till all she could feel was magic
Pure, divine, magic! Breath held. It was then she knew.

She was lost!

Seeing her sit on the porch, the rocker moving
Back and forth, he watched her closely as he made
His way to where she sat. He was mesmerized
At the vision before his eyes. The dark night lit up
Stars blinking down. The Moon staring down on them
Made him know this was meant to be. He was drawn
To her. Her scent sweet in the night air. Intoxicating
His very senses. Moving slowly, he waited till he was
Just upon her before he looked up. A small gasp sounded
Out in the night air. He stared into her eyes. Black as coal
So black that they were lost in the night. It was then he knew.

He was lost!

~~~~
The stars shone down on two lovers
Twinkling their brightness
Dazzling the eyes
And the fragrance..
Oh the fragrance!
Enchanting to the senses
Intoxicating to all around
In each others arms they sealed fate
That they had searched for, for so long
Memories of what once was, now gone
Dreams of the tomorrows, now coming to be
And they sighed,
Lovingly
Happily
And oh so peacefully..
For they were lost.
  In each other..
Very romantic poetry. Nice to read this on my Valentine's evening. Makes me dream of my romantic future that lies ahead of me. I always love your love poems.
Metaphorically enswathing the reader in essences of mutual attractions; what a great read. Besides ... I love happy endings!
This, to me, has more of the mood and transparency of a narrative in a romance novel. While the early visuals are set in place (stars, night, moon, scents), it seems a bit redundant to re-enter them into other stanzas as well as this actually defers the progression and diminishes the 'turn' of the poetics. It's not that the sensation of the piece or the romantic setting wasn't achieved, I'm simply stating that it answers too many variables and doesn't allow me to be a player in this piece.
I, like john-paul, find the music as a huge distraction; but I know to shut-off my speakers when presented with music during a read.
A fantastic piece which flowed brilliantly
Such love is like dreams that awaken the Soul...you display that ever so soft and flowing expression of love and romance so well...
a very nice view of your thoughts...
nice....
i think that this is nicely done, but could be much better. im not a fan of music or photos grasping for my attention, steering my emotions as i read. that is ur job as the poet. the words are to be the vehicles that move us.
while the sentiment is great, the flow is not. this just does not flow...there is far to much telling and not showing. i.e. ur use as the breath of a baby, is great! that is showing me. put more imagery into ur work like that, and i think you can really have something.
