splendor in the grass

splendor in the grass

A Poem by Magdelena
"

The leaving of one special memory to come upon a new one is the greatest of change.

"

Days grow shorter,
Nights become longer
And in the minds eye they leave behind sweet memories.

I follow their path to the vastness waiting
Tucked deep inside for days of need
Ahh the dreams we so shared
You and I.

Under the large oak tree we sat
Tales of our lives taking hold for each other to grasp
We believed, became, then joined
Together for in our hearts we knew
Love was the answer
The power to bring forth us two.

Now the darkness brings starlight
New memories for us to share
The tree we sat under
We know, shall always be waiting there.

And we see summer has passed
With months swiftly speeding by
August, September, oh the passion
She recalls with a gentle sigh.

Now October has come about
And with it the knowledge of change
From the very leaves they sat under
To the open sun beating its rays.

Yet we fear not
For each one is for ours to behold
Dreams of passing memories
Of the stories we told.

Yes, splendor in the grass,
We sat and dreamed
Our treasured thoughts
Now singing with the turning leaves.

Then slowly we watch, as they fall and scatter
Like droplets of rain, they send forth their call
With beautiful hues of color
That looks upon us all.

The coming of October
Like a breeze soft and true
I hold to my heart
Just as my memories of you.

For splendor in the grass
Is what we both shared
Loved and promised
As the new months neared.

A moment
A dream
A treasure of delight
Once again under the suns rays
We shall capture that sight.

For..
Splendor in the grass
Our very own memories in flight.
