Knowing ones self is such a complex thing.

 

 

Truth comes quickly in my minds eye

I see what I am

I see all the why's

Like a trick of emotion, I see tears fly.

 

For what is truth if not to stare you in the face

Make us see who we are

Make us save grace

Or are we only floating, taking up space?

 

The mirror does not lie

I look and smirk

For all I've been taught

I feel such the jerk.

 

Of lies, deceit

Things out of my control

When did I loose myself

Of how long ago?

 

So here I stand

My face straight ahead

Eyes of darkness

Thoughts of dread.

 

For what I must do

Must be true to me

Decisions I move forward

Will finally set me free.

 

Pain comes often

For me, all the time

Yet with the pain comes wisdom

I just lost sight of mine.

 

I wave goodbye my love

Goodbye and well wishes

My life has new meaning

And some are not in it.

 

So I leave with broken heart

With tears of distant pain

Yet with truth I know

I must move, to live once again.

The time has come

For to live this I know

I so can feel this write and especially these words here
This really tugged at me and pulled me in to the feelings.
I can feel my own tears come from this.

OH!!!!! this is heartbreaking to read, an emotional piece and I am sure that no one likes to hear such words, they are emotionally tragic. You have expressed yourself so well in this piece...very sad, it leaves ones spirit dead.

A very introspective piece and so true, one must indeed move on if in an unhappy relationship

or meerly is not satisfied with one's own self for whatever reason~

losing yourself and then trying to find your identity again, can be

very hard to do ~ at any rate you have to make a decison and choose the right path

This is indeed a sorrowfilled write But the message is clear, leaving no doubt as to the intent of the persona
However the choice is hard for the persona to make very difficult indeed So I believe that the persona of this piece is waiting for something to happen or be decided before making a finail decision
