On a veranda filled with flowers

On a veranda filled with flowers

A Poem by Magdelena

I saw you that night
Under the veranda
Flowers surrounding your face
My heart skipped a beat, then quickly raced.

A night for lovers, it was
The moon so large, brilliant
Couples strolling along hand in hand
I stood to the side and watched.

My eyes on you
Your lean body standing against the veranda
You had a white suit on
Your form fitting it perfectly.

Your dark hair shinning in the light of the moon
Your face turned just enough for me to see you
The soft sounds of the music playing, drifted by me
I felt my body softly sway to the beat.

Then you turned..

They say love at first sight comes once in a lifetime
Breath held, eyes trained on yours
Heart stopped, then the sound loud in my ears
The music drifting by closer.

I watched you move
The color of your eyes were blue
The moons glow was brightly upon you
Two people in the night, we were.

On a veranda filled with flowers
Couples strolling hand in hand
The moon shinning brightly down
Magical it was.

They say love at first sight comes once in a lifetime

On a veranda filled with flowers
I learned to believe..
