![]() One NightA Poem by Madison Juliana Alexander![]() I wrote this about an experience I shared with someone once. Unfortunately, the first line is all too accurate - he was not what he seemed to be.![]() You are not what you seem My boy dressed
in a cloak of innocence It’s
a lie Under the cover of night your
hands The sonnets
they write on my skin I breathe like I’m starved for oxygen You
pull me closer I
pull back I’ve never prayed like that night your skin Soft Against
my own Your eyes fires
to light my night Your body hot Against
my own You think but
you don’t You think
about your next move You
must No You
act on instinct Primal Two hearts One rhythm One night One
bed I can feel your heart beating like mine We aren’t
so different In that moment [in fact] We Are The
same. © 2015 Madison Juliana Alexander |
