The storms of trauma

The storms of trauma

A Poem by MadisonJR
"

This poem shows the levels of trauma, but using storms to represent the steps.

"
Trauma is like a tsunami
Hitting the house's along the beach
Leaving a once beautiful house,
To despair and broken wood beneath your feet.

Later on it turns into a tornado.
All the broken pieces of wood get lifted up
They start to spin and smash into each other
Once everything stops spinning all you see is dust
That once beautiful house is now lost forever.

When things seemed like they were never going to get better
Your house was starting to be built,
The base was stronger than it ever was before.
The walls holding up the roof were stronger than any tsunami or tornado.

There are still earthquakes that will shake the house
It will frighten you, but this house will not break like the last
This house can withstand any storm it comes across
Your new house is very strong so go help others build their house after the brutal storm

I like this a lot.... Probably a lot more than I can express!

Something of a slight shiver ran beneath my skin when I read the first few stanzas..

I am a survivor of multiple traumas. I stand proud. I've built a stronger, safer house..

sometimes the hurricane then the tornado does irreparable damage the house can not be built once more the corpse of the house is blown around and up and dust remains... like a loved one who kills with harsh cruelty and breaks the spirit , heart and soul impossible to repair only acceptance and use of some wee talent can take a bit of pain away and maybe a laughter and a friend but hey its temporary the house does not remain
my own story
