Running

Running

A Poem by Roe

Trying so hard not to stop
Pushing myself to the limit
Sweat sliding down my face
The sound of my heart roaring in my ears
Louder and louder
My legs turn numb
But yet I still feel them burning
It's a pain I welcome whole heartily
My sides threatening to make me clasp
I barley hear my quick hard breaths
Every part of me is screaming
Begging me to stop
But my mind is clear and calm
Not listening to the pleading of my body
When it thinks I might quit
Might finally give in to the pain
It's whispers to me
Don't stop…
Keep going…

I was a running for my first 30 years of life. I liked the long runs. 10k or above. I like and understand this poem.

I did and you are welcome.
A wonderful description of what, I suppose, is your passion, running, right? I would guess so from how clearly you described the feelings it conveys to you. Great poem, well done !
