The story behind Rumlestiltskin

A Story by MadiHunter

Out in the high mountains at the end of the forest, there is a little house, and living in this house was a little man and his wife. The little man and his wife coundn't have a child of their own.
So one day him and his wife were picking berries outside there house, and he said to her, "Elena, I will go to the Kings castle and trick one of the works into giving me a child." Elena was pleased with this and kissed him farwell as he started towards the Kings castle.
Once the little man got to the Kings castle he over heard the King and a poor miller talking. "I have a daughter who can spin straw into gold!" Said the miller, "That is an art which very much pleases me , if she can do as you say then bring her tomorrow and I will but her to the test." With this the little man thought he might get a child out of this young girl.
The next day the little man walked to a door where the King but the girl, he opened the door and saw that she was crying and all the straw wasn't spone into gold. "Good everning, miss miller, oh why are you crying?" He asked her. The girl took a deep breath and answered "I have to spin this straw into gold, and I have no idea how to do that."
"What will you give me," he asked, "if I do it for you?" The girl thought about it, "My necklace"
He took her necklace for he thought his wife would like it, and sat down at the spining wheel and started to spin the straw, and using old magic he turned the straw to gold.
The next day the found the girl crying in a bigger room then the night befor, and asked "What would you give me if I spin the straw to gold for you?"
"The ring on my finger." She answered.
He took the ring for he thought that his wife would like it, and sat down and started to spin the straw in to gold again with his old magic.
The next day he again found the girl in a much larger room crying and asked her, "What would you give me if I spin the straw to gold?"
"I have nothing left that I could give you." Said the girl.
"Then you prommise me, that if you marry the king, you must give me your first born child." The girl agreed, and the little man started to spin the straw once more.
He returned home to tell his wife what he had done, and handed her the nectleace and the ring.
After a year the little man went back to the castle and found the girl holding a baby, he walked into the room and said with his hands out, "Now give me what you promised."
The girl refused and ofered him gold and land, but he he truned it all down, he wanted the baby. The girl began to cry, with a sigh he said, "I will give you three days time, you have that time to figer out what my name is, if you find out what my name is you can keep your baby."
He came back the next day and asked her what his name was, she asked "Caspar, Melchior, Balthazar?" But he just said, "That is not my name."
The day after that he came and asked her again, she said " Sheepshanks, Laceleg, or Shortribs?" But he just said, "That is not my name."
He went home to his wife and they sang and danced around a fire, for the girl would not find out hat his name is. He was jumping on one leg shouting
'Today I bake, tomorrow I brew,
The next I'll have the young girls child too!
Ha,  glad that no one knows my name,
That my name is Rumpelstiltskin!!'
On the third day he came and said, "Today is your last to guess my name, what is my name?" The girl answered with "Harry or Conrad?" He smiled and said, "That is not my name."
    "Oh how about Rumpelstiltskin?"
"How would you know! The devil has told you that!" He yealled, he was so up set that he plunged his foot so deep into the earth that his whole leg went in, he tried to pull his leg out but with all his rage he pulled his leg out and doing so he riped himself in two.
The end.
