Marijuana - Hope or Dope?

What is this thing, this lure?

It’s powerful, this ‘Herb’ for sure.

It takes you straight to Nirvana

Mere plant; they call it ‘Marijuana’

Also goes by, ‘Cannabis’

Man, life with it, is Total Bliss!

Give me ‘Pot’ any day

And see me change in every way

To some, it sure is medicine

To the rest, merely ‘Sin’

If it were up to me,

Do give, to the sick and needy

Illegal now, it’s just ‘Weed’

But, with Prop 64, pay heed

There will be drivers in a daze

Added to drunk drinking, also ‘Haze’

The question, how can we hope

For a better world, with legal ‘Dope’

They say the marijuana industry

Will bring in more money

With all the money, Take a guess

It will bring in - even more ‘Grass’!

Of course, a Yes to Prop 64

Will line the pockets of the ‘Gangster’!

And won't that be just plain crazy

to bring on all that misery

Call it whatever you wish,

Beware, Stay away from ‘Hashish’!!
