The Fallen Soldiers

The Fallen Soldiers

A Poem by Maddi

Tears,
Heavy with blood,
Ebb away their mentality

Fifty thousand marching men move.
Across a wasteland of ice and corpses.
Love is gone in this barren heath.
Love is essential to repair your mind.
Everyone depends on you to protect.
No one is unsafe because of you.

Soliloquys sad and deep and meaningful,
Often cross their minds at night
Little do they know of the prayers,
Defended children pray.
In war, one must find purpose.
Even if your life is sacrificed for that purpose.
Renounce your sorrow, we do not want you to be sad
So shed no more tears, we lived a good life, be glad for us.
