Fantasies as sweet as icing

dripping from naive lips,

delightfully unrealistic plans

leading to false hope,

delusions that somehow

this poorly timed love story,

would end in something

other than heartbreak.

"Delightfully unrealistic plans"...Sounds to me like you've been here on this merry go round of life before and know that to expect the unexpected can be a great thing, but a reality check now and again never hurt anyone. I really like the two aspects of this, firstly you have excitement of high expectations and to dream big, yet at the same time the knowledge that not everything always goes to plan. Reaching for the stars is a big ask, but you can either sit there and complain about how unachievable it is, or you can try to get that bit closer each time. I think you'll go far. :)
