![]() I Meet New People ( unfinished )A Chapter by Maddie![]() Meet our main characters and find out some plot! :D![]() Chapter 1 I meet new people I never thought I would live to see the end of the world.
But now I think I will. If anybody sees you reading this book, they will banish it. They will make sure you don’t know what they did. I recommend you destroy this book. I don’t care how. Burn it, rip out the pages, throw it into the ocean. Believe the lies that they tell you. If you keep reading, know that it is at your own risk. The things that are said in this book happened. They don’t want you to know. My friends and I lived through everything. We know everything. This is our story. The story starts when I awoke to a fully white room surrounding my blurry vision. I didn’t have a clue where I was or how I even got there. I propped myself up onto my elbows, rubbing my eyes with shaky hands. I felt like I couldn’t move properly, as if my whole body was cramping up all at once. The most I could manage at the moment was sitting up, even though it felt like an impossible task. I felt like a fog had settled over my brain, clouding my judgement and muting any rational thinking. I looked ahead of me. There were two metal framed bunk beds, both hugging a wall opposite to the other. Both sets of beds had people on them. One had two teenage boys on it. The other bed had a girl of the seemingly same age resting on the bottom bunk. The young girl looked familiar, but I just couldn’t pinpoint where I knew her from. That wasn’t saying much, considering I couldn’t remember anything prior to waking up in the white room. I felt exhausted. The thin mattresses that lined the metal beds looked luxurious to me. I urged my body to move, to focus, but I couldn’t. The fog remained. I weakly moved over to the ladder of the girl’s bunk bed. Once I had managed to get to the base of the ladder, I stabilized myself on the bars, then promptly hoisted myself up onto my feet. I felt shaky for a second, thinking I may collapse, but, once the feeling had passed, it was easier to stand, as long as I held on tightly to the bars of the ladder. I weakly pulled my right foot up and onto the first bar of the metal ladder. It was excruciatingly hard to even pull myself to the second bar, much less the whole ladder. It looked impossible. Despite that, I still forced my legs and arms to comply with my foggy brain, pulling myself up bar by bar in intervals. I would have to take breaks periodically just to manage staying on the ladder. After a long climb, I made it up to the thin mattress that laid on the metal frame. I collapsed onto it, starting to drift off immediately. The last thing I saw was the blank, white, ceiling before my world faded to black.
It only felt like it had been minutes before I woke up. I didn’t feel rested at all. The bright, luminescent lights shined right in my eyes as soon as I opened them, causing my head to start aching. I heard soft groans as the three teens I saw last night come to their senses. My body didn’t ache anymore, and the fog had slowly lifted from my brain while I had slept. As I sat up and groggily rubbed my eyes, I remembered the previous night. Waking up on the cold, tiled floor, the dim white walls around me, and the two metal bunk beds with the thin mattresses that I had decided to sleep on for some odd reason. I touched the cold railing that lined the outside edge of the bunk before cautiously crawling over to the ladder and climbing down. Already standing in between the two bunk beds were the two boys I had seen briefly the previous night. I didn’t see the girl, so I assumed she was still asleep. The room was eerily quiet, save for the soft shuffling of footsteps or breathing. I still felt weak. Too weak. I wanted to talk, to call out to the two guys, but I didn’t trust my voice to not come out shaky. I walked over to them, studying their features intently. The guy on the right was average height, around the same as me, with black hair and emerald green eyes. The other teen was slightly taller with dusty brown hair and eyes I couldn’t depict the color of. In fact, I practically stared at his eyes for minutes on end, watching as oranges and reds seemed to flicker in his eyes. “Are you done?” He asked. His gruff voice snapped me out of my mesmerized state. “Uhm, yeah. Sorry.” I mumbled. As I suspected, my voice was shaky and wavered with every word. The guy with the green eyes spoke up. His voice was softer - gentle even - compared to the brown-ish eyed boy. “Do you know where we are?” He asked. “No, I was hoping you guys would know.” I replied while looking at the white padded room that seemed to stretch on indefinitely, despite only being able to be around a ten by ten area. “Who are you guys? Did you bring me here?” My voice was slightly panicked. The thought hadn’t even crossed my mind before this point, but it was possible these guys kidnapped me and were acting ignorant. On the other hand, they could also be victims. They could’ve had a similar experience to me. “What? No. We didn’t bring you here. We don’t even know where we are.” The brown haired boy answered. He was monotone, looking around the room in the same manner I did. “Then…Who are you guys?” I mumbled out. The two teens looked at each other, like having a silent conversation just between looks. “I’m Liam. He’s Noah.” The green eyed boy said. I looked between them, inspecting their features.
