I AM NOT A CATERPILLARA Poem by MadalaJoseMemoirs of a ButterflyI was flying
like all days Perhaps I was a
little careless Showing off my
new wings To caterpillars,
these me-wannabes.
Then… I run into a
whirlwind Nose-dived into
a messy marsh Got maggots all
over my wings Got my wings
glued to the mud I was stuck...
They started
laughing at me Pointing there
mandibles at me Mocking my
efforts to fly again.
All I know is I am not a
caterpillar, I am butterfly
that fell in the mud Warming up for
my next flying lesson. © 2015 MadalaJoseAuthor's Note
