Metamorphosis

Memoirs of a Butterfly

I was born in mundanity, raised in mediocrity

Got used to a life of struggle

Was betrothed to helplessness

Impregnated and conceived hopelessness.

My life was a mess...

 

But knowledge came.

Knowledge of transformation: Metamorphosis.

With it came my heritage

My greatness had come to age.

I came to learn of my power of flight,

To fly past mediocrity, to transcend commonplaceness.

I came to learn of my power of choice,

To choose freedom over captivity, beauty over plainness,

 Life over death.

 

I chose life...

I grew my wings and flew.

This poem has a powerful message enveloped in a delicate way. In my opinion everything has a limit, even freedom cause we live in a complicated world which needs fair management. I think greed influences every bad behavior, we must have content to overcome that bad self centered behavior. Thanks for a wonderful write.
