Becoming CloserA Poem by The Mad ProphetI have a problem with closeness, and I know this now. The problem is that I am a loner, and I am not sure I can give something I don't know I have.
Closeness is an illusion in my vision
I don’t understand it
But I sure do fear it
What if I let you in, would you stay?
Or would you leave me like everyone has
No one close stays with me
No one can get close enough to stay
I have been stabbed in the back
I have been broken too many times
And if I let you in my life
New fears will come
Even if you stay, would you be happy
I can not comprehend your beauty without color
I would rather see you happy, then be selfishly happy
I know I can’t make you happy
I now I am worthless in your eyes
Do not look at me
Do not acknowledge I exist
I can’t even handle you saying my name
In fear of what blasphemy you speak
In fear of that name next to your purity
Trust me when I say
We are becoming closer then ever
When I walk farther away
