Chapter (10) HALLOWE'EN

Chapter (10) HALLOWE'EN

A Chapter by MAD ENGLISHMAN

HALLOWE’EN

In the dark of the night and out in the street,

gathered children in costumes,

to play trick or treat.

They looked for the lanterns all lit up and bright,

then knocked on the doors to give you a fright.

Soon they came to a door in a house all alone,

and saw on the door a handle of bone.

A child came up, he was braver than most,

he was all in white, dressed up as a ghost.

He knocked on the door and took a step back,

as the door creaked open, but only a crack.

“Who’s there?” Snapped a voice,

from a face no one saw,

it frightened the boy, and he fell on the floor.

“Please Sir.” Said the boy. “It’s Hallowe’en eve,

We’ve come trick or treating, do you want us to leave?”

The door opened wider and to their surprise,

stood a wizened old man all covered in flies.

He wore a big hat, and his nose gave a snort,

and right on the end was large hairy wart.

The children gasped and ran back to the streets,

“Come back.” Croaked the man. “I’ve got you some sweets.”

The children were scared and screamed as they fled.

The old man just smiled and went back to bed.
