Chapter (27) THE GIFTA Chapter by MAD ENGLISHMANKIDS ARE OFTEN MORE IN TUNE WITH THE WORLD THAN SOME ADULTS.THE GIFT. I had a birthday party And my friends all brought me
things. Some were great and some were
odd Like the doll with bells, who
sings.
But one was very special, It was heavy and sort of
round. My mate said that he found it Just lying on the ground.
“It’s a stone.” Mum said as I
unwrapped it “It’s a stone from in the
yard.” “Well yes” I said but it won’t
break, “Because stones are really
hard.”
“It’s a stone.” She said,
repeating What was obvious to see. But it was from my bestest
friend This gift was special to me.
“It’s a stone.” My mum said
over Not quite believing what she
saw. But I was very happy I’d not owned a stone before.
“I got it for ya special.” Said my mate’s voice, filled
with glee. “IT’S A STONE.” My mum then
shouted, “Yes Mum. But I love it. He got
it just for me?”
You see my best mates name is
Charlie, He’s the Down’s kid in our
school. He can’t play sports or catch
real good But I thinks he’s really
cool.
His face is kinda different From others in our class, But that does not give anyone The right, to make him feel
like an a*s.
I know it wasn’t easy For him to wrap a stone up like a toy, But to me it means a whole
lot more, It’s a gift that's filled with
joy. © 2017 MAD ENGLISHMANAuthor's Note
