Chapter (5) POEMS ARE ADDICTIVEA Chapter by MAD ENGLISHMANPOEMS ARE ADDICTIVE.
I tried to write a poem, my friends had said I should. I started writing words and
stuff, It wasn't any good.
The words they kept on coming, the concentration's quite
intense. My friends said "just
give it up, It's not making any sense."
I've got the bug and cannot
stop, I have to write things down. My finger ends are blistered, My forehead's furrowed frown.
The pills don't help, the
pain's still there, Doc says I have to cease. This writing's getting out of
hand, It's like some strange disease.
Just one more verse and then
I'll stop, I can do it anytime. I hear my words and need to
write, I have to make it rhyme.
In rehab now with padded room, And pills to make me sane. But if I ever get the chance, I'll do it all again.
