Chapter (2) WHAT IS LOVE ?

Chapter (2) WHAT IS LOVE ?

A Chapter by MAD ENGLISHMAN

WHAT IS LOVE ?

Love is not... Going to the pub to be with your mates when she's waited all day to be with you.

Love is not... Being angry because your favourite shirt isn't clean.

Love is not... Telling her she looks rough when she's just had the worst day of her life.

Love is not... Being cross because she doesn't want to be intimate when she's tired.

Love is not... Blaming her because the children are acting up.

Love is not... Ogling other women when you're out together.

Love is not... Stopping her from having a job if she wants one.

Love is not... Checking her phone records and text messages.

Love is not... Telling her you're going to watch whatever TV channel you please.

Love is not... Losing it when a meal isn't on the table when you decide it should be.

Is love? - Letting her choose to watch her favourite program when you have no interest in it.

Is love? - Running her a hot foam bath with scented candles because she's had a hard day.

Is love? - Telling her she looks sexy just to boost her morale.

Is love? - Bringing her a flower just to see her smile.

Is love? - Sending her a text from time to time. "missing you"

Is love?  - Putting the children to bed even if you're tired too.

Is love? - Organising a night out with girlfriends for her.

Is love? - Cooking her a nice meal because she's cleaned and cooked all day.

Is love? - Remembering it's her birthday without being reminded.

          OR

       Is love?

Letting her walk away without anger or recrimination when you know she will be happier with him.

Thank you for reading.
Wow...that last line gave me goosebumps. Such powerful words, so well placed. The perfect ending to a great poem.

Is it love? I believe you know the answer.

It is a changeling - like the flu virus
I do agree with the last line, its very deep, it is more like the selfless love when you even give u that person for his happiness. I wish you have love always and forever
And Happy new year and have a happy new years eve:)

Many thanks. it was hard to write. A project in self examination.
It's all that and receiving the same in your turn! And both being grateful for all you share together. Well penned and considered viewpoints. Wish more people had such perspective.
