Chapter (13) ON THIS CHRISTMAS DAY, by Hugh Dysart.

A Chapter by MAD ENGLISHMAN

ON THIS CHRISTMAS DAY.

On this Christmas Day there shall be no war,

The bullets will not fly, the blood will not pour,

Put down our weapons, turn our gaze up above,

Let our hearts and eyes fill with the tears of love.

On this Christmas Day our love will conquer hate,

Our love lights will shine within the peace we create,

Peace will see no colour, our enemy will be our brother,

Hope will be our Father and Love will be our Mother.

On this Christmas day all wrong will become right,

All brothers and sisters will rejoice and unite,

A single burning star will illuminate the sky,

Sorrow will be shed, a newborn baby will cry.

On this Christmas Day there shall be no violence,

Only the wings of a dove, breaking the silence,

We will listen in our hearts to what the Wise men say,

On This Christmas Day, On This Christmas Day.
