Chapter (26) TIMMY

A MOUSE TALE.

A mouse called Tim, quite small and soft

Had made his home inside a loft.

With an old shoe box he built a house

That was just right, for a tiny mouse.

 

A spider lived not far from Tim

and soon he had made friends with him.

The two would meet and have a chat

Until one day they heard a cat.

 

Now Tim was scared of tabby cats

He'd run away and hide in hats.

But Cedric, that was the spiders name

Just thought this was a funny game.

 

Now Cedrics' house was made of silk

He'd made from webs as white as milk.

And he could walk and not get stuck

While other creepies had no such luck.

 

The cat did run and jump around

And knock Tims house onto the ground.

Poor Tim was sad to see it so

But hid until the cat did go.

 

Then Cedric brave came down to say

The cat's not here , he's gone away.

Your house is broke but that's alright

We'll build another, but out of sight.

 

The two best friends worked hard all day

And never stopped to even play

They fixed the box with silky threads

And even built two tiny beds.

 

To stop the cat they'd need a door

So they blocked the hole from top to floor.

And now the two can safely play

From waking up to close of day.
