Chapter (32) TIME WASA Chapter by MAD ENGLISHMANTIME
WAS
In
sadness I stand and stare Lost
broken dreams and garden bare No
joyful colour in my eyes To
mask away the hurt and lies.
I
looked across and could but see A
twisted gnarled and wizened tree Where
once we picked sweet apples bright and
sat beneath with hands held tight.
With
kisses we had pledged our love while
high in branches coo'd a dove. We'd
build a haven, made a home with
trees and flowers, grass and stone.
Now
brambles grow where once we made our
childrens' laughter as they played, and
nettles high with poison leaves host
butterflies and bugs and bees.
All
gone from view the gardens charm it
now grows only things that harm, no
place to bring our youth to play the
world's not safe as in our day. © 2017 MAD ENGLISHMAN |
