Chapter (11) 47 YEARSA Chapter by MAD ENGLISHMAN
47 YEARS. One deep and darkly winters night I lay in bed, eyes open, yet saw no light. Beside me warm she stirred, my aged lover then turned and snored and took my cover. Beneath these sheets we'd lain for
years and many times cried silent tears. When we would fight or fall apart This bed could mend a broken heart.
Years past we'd lay like snakes
entwined and from loves table had
constant dined. Our naked skin burned hot
with passion for only food, back then,
was rationed.
Then stars behind my closed eyes
quivered, She moved again, warmth gone, I
shivered. I'm old and so my bladder's weak a late drink and I've been known
to leak.
I stumbled out from bed to hall did my best, didn't
trip or fall. The bathroom door was
pushed asunder light on, and then I made
my blunder
She woke alarmed to hear me shriek her grey haired man she came to
seek. For goodness sake you're such a
wuz there's nothing here to make a
fuss. Then as she looked and I beside
her "Great Scot" she
said, "it's just a spider"
