Chapter (27) CONQUER YOUR FEARS

Chapter (27) CONQUER YOUR FEARS

A Chapter by MAD ENGLISHMAN

CONQUER YOUR FEARS

Darkness, like a blanket,

surrounding, covering, suffocating

Closing in, trapping, blocking your escape.

Horrors fill the eyes.

You hear the cries

of others' torments.

Fear, acid acrid, rising from your burning stomach

to fire bursting lungs.

You scream, loud, deafening, scaring

No-one caring

that you're shaking and quaking in your shoes.

You are propelled into sudden light.

As the little wagon of the Fairground Ghost train rumbles to a halt.

People like to be frightened when they can be certain there's no danger. I am not so trusting of such carnival rides since I read Stephen King's "Joyland."

Whoa! Dark, desperate, and surreal and surprising. It reads as a struggle to sanity, then surprises the reader as the end of a carnival ride!
