Chapter (15) SO MY CHILDREN WILL REMEMBER.

Chapter (15) SO MY CHILDREN WILL REMEMBER.

A Chapter by MAD ENGLISHMAN
"

I WANTED TO LEAVE SOMETHING TO SHOW I EXISTED, ONCE.

"

I thought I'd write a book, my kids had said I should

I thought I'd try some poetry, didn't know if I could.

My son said  get the internet, to help you find a way

And now I'm sitting writing, almost every single day.

My first was not my greatest, it really didn't rhyme

My second took forever, it was a waste of time.

But now I'm really getting, what this writing's all about

And I keep on getting  compliments that make me want to shout.

I wrote about my early life, and 'bout my time in France

about the highs and lows we had, and fun that came by chance.

The places that I visited, the new friends that I made,

In countries that were new to me, and sometimes wish I'd stayed.

Today I finished writing, my very first real book

I couldn't guess how difficult or how much time it took.

I hope the people read it and give me good reviews,

For now I understand how a writer pays his dues.

So come on all you writers let's fill up all this space

With stories full of wonder and poems full of grace.

It's ok to make us laugh, to bring out sadness too

So set up word and start to type, we'd love to hear from you.

MAD ENGLISHMAN,
"So my children will remember" really hit home for me. I have not been writing for years and years but when I do it is so satisfying! I hope and wonder if my own grown children will want to read what I write. Your poem is a comfort. Thank you so much!!.............Kathy PS I love to read new writers every so often and first writings as well. Again it was a pleasure.............
