![]() The Circle of LeadershipA Poem by Macrov![]() A short poem about the dangers of leadership.![]()
In the beginning there was a King
To his people he was more than that He was kind, grateful and never allowed his people to sting They appreciated his loyalty through the coming spat Another wished to sit on his throne He was dishonorable and cared little for his people that he commanded there He wanted the kings head and wanted this alone Alone he wanted to do so, despite his lack of an heir The traitor did not care for his mens lives, as he sent them to take the throne in war His men then did what they did best As they cut the kings men down one by one, they thought it a bore But soon they found that the Kings men were better cared for and better than the rest, The kings men fought the traitor until they had him on the run The traitor refused to surrender and gave him one more trick The man slay the great King in battle in the noonday sun Yet this did not spell the end of the Kingdom so quick The Kings young son took up arms He beat back the traitors men back at only the age of twenty He held the traitor at sword point, and yet did not strike with alarm. For he knew that the honorable man did not do this plenty This day young King Elmore won his first victory One that secured the freedom for all His patience with his subjects was great within this story Yet his Kingdom was in the eyes of another still. one who wished to see him fall.
