Battle Scars

Battle Scars

A Poem by Mackenzie Brooke
"

We all got them......

"
Never have I seen battle
but I have won many a war

Not once escaped a bullet
but I have cheated death

I never faced danger
but over come all my fears

Every scar on my wrist
a different twist
to this "game" called "life"

Invisible scars
that just remind me of
the pain I felt inside

Words the dagger
stabbing my heart

Actions the bullets
shredding me apart

I'm not a solider
but I got stories to tell

I'm not the devil
but I've lived in hell

Author's Note

Mackenzie Brooke
when it talks about cuts on my wrists i dont actually have any they, its just a metaphor because some people take that stanza literally
