A Weigh Away

A Weigh Away

Thoughts and feelings

teeter-tottering

over an overflowing

empty mind,

falling slightly to a side

tipping this way or that

just a weigh away

Choosing to feed one of two

wolves inside your own soul.

They do belong to you!

No words will lay them in

another’s hands.

Whether willing or weighing

either way you weigh away

The choice is your own

which will win?

Your heart may in the end

make up your empty

overflowing mind

but either way

you must alone weigh

and choose which to let starve

Either side could consume you

could win if you say

but only if you say.

There is not a single other option

but to weigh your own

maybe take a step back

let it bounce back and forth

but don’t let it linger,

for only your feet will beat down your path.

How would you like to see it?

You only tease the one you play

The one you admire could diminish,

if you’d like to play that game

risk it all for a while, sure

the one that eats will conquer

the one you  starve cannot live

choose wisely now on your way

How beautiful it is to see such wonder

all the purity maybe once thought to be lost

laid out in front of your curious eyes

set down and placed with your own two hands

which side will you let taste your innocence?

Don’t rush it now, It’s already just a weigh away.
