Waiting to Wait

Waiting to Wait

A Poem by MacieLogan

Some things take time and I’m willing to wait,

but waiting takes time and that’s what I hate.

What if we’re waiting for nothing at all?

Just waiting to wait, or to stand, or to fall.

We’re never quite satisfied with what we have now,

so we all wait for something, or nothing somehow.

Maybe it’s best to just roll with the punches,

feeling the breaks in the leaf as it crunches,

under your feet, and down your path never expecting,

and accept what may come, and never rejecting.

The best things in life are the things unexpected

the way we feel when we expect to be unaccepted.

If we all would stop waiting, and just let our lives happen,

we could all be surprised by things we could never imagine.
