Voice Like Honey

a poem...

 

Your voice is like honey; 

even a bitter conversation 

goes down smooth. 

Besides,  

truth is sometimes a tad bit uncouth, 

so who decides what's disapproved 

when it's only me and you?  

 

There are inappropriate thoughts 

which you've appropriately brought to mind 

everytime you've blushed behind your words; 

thoughts of kisses on skin,  

the most delicious sin, 

 a trail of passion as if love was in fashion,  

asking questions that can't be heard.  

 

I want to kiss you til you smile against my lips, 

 in that space between the things  

we're too afraid to dream,  

when words won't fit,  

because our tongues might slip,  

the perfect moment  

for that perfect kiss.
