You're Still Here

A poem...

You’re still sleeping,

my beautiful dear,

and though I’m still awake

you take me to dreaming,

       because I have you here…

 

So I take a breathe

and you make a sigh

then you lay on my chest

without knowing why,

     just glad that I’m here…

 

I move your hair,

then kiss your forehead,

so you know that I’m there.

And you give a smile,

then drift back away,

and leave me awake

        so I can dream for a while...

 

But I’ll drift away

and you’ll wake there before me

and when I awake

I’ll see that your gone…

So I’ll go back to sleep,

to find that dream

I’ve been finding you in

knowing it won’t be long

        til you kiss me again…

 

And when it comes time,

you’ll crawl on the bed

to kiss me good morning

         and lay down your head.

 

Then we’ll both smile

as you lay on my chest

-with me for a while,

forgetting the rest…

forgetting our fears…

Then we’ll dream for the best,

      though you’re already here…

               yes, you’re already here…

first stanza, I'd use a diff word than "take" in the fourth line. Sounds a bit odd. I love moments like this.... sighs... I'm such the romantic lol

How do you turn out consistently good pieces like this? Takes me forever to write one poem. Tender kisses , a man who dreams of you..I think this is what every girl's heart dreams of...To be loved by a man with soul and tenderness.
