Thank You

A poem for a friend...

I wrote this say thank you,

-for everything you do.

You have a way of making me smile,

-even when I’m blue.

If only you knew,

-how much you’ve helped me.

And if only I could make you see,

-you’re wonderful,

you deserve to be free.

 

Free from sorrow, free from pain,

Released from the ceaseless,

troubles that would drive most insane.

Put away the straight jacket,

stay in the game.

Put away the bag, unpack it

Don’t runaway on that train.

 

Don’t hide from the world,

-you’re a beautiful girl.

This knot of heartache,

-is bound to unfurl.

 

I wrote this to say thank you,

-for being who you are.

And even though you live quite far,

-you understand me better than most,

You’ve become a guiding star.

You’re a great friend,

-with a great heart.

Which is why I say, this isn’t the end,

      -its only the start.
