My ShadowA Poem by MachinaWriterA poem about building up walls...Everywhere I go, -there’s my shadow
right behind. He says all the
things, -that are really on
my mind. He tells you he
loves you, -even when I’m
quiet. I write a lot of
words and secrets -he tells you what
he meant by it. I’m self
controlled, -he takes control. I’m the brains and
words, -he’s the heart and
soul. I’m the
consequence, -of another broken
heart. But if he could
give his two cents, -he’d say to make a
new start. And it makes me
think… Is he the shadow? Or is it me? In these shallow
waters I sink, -yet its him who
sets me free. I’m the shadow of
my soul, -hiding the true me
from the light. Maybe I should give
him control, -take back my life
and fight. But will she
accept? If I were to have
leapt, would I fall to the
depths? Is it worth losing
my shadow, -the only thing
left? © 2012 MachinaWriterReviews
