Happy BirthdayA Poem by MachinaWriterA poem...I’m in a silent,
wishful waiting -for these thoughts
to stop invading Happy birthday to… I’m tired of the
singing, -its just an
incessant ringing bringing nothing
more than entreating thoughts of you
receding… Happy-happy-happy
birthday to you… And these thoughts
have me thinking, -of popped
champaigne I should be drinking, But not to
celebrate. To drown away the
hate. It happens every
year, -I usually drown
inside a beer, Thinking of the
reasons, -I no longer have
you here. Thinking… thinking…
thinking… I’m ever slowly
sinking. I have another year
I’ve lived, -yes...one more
year. But it’s another I
shouldn’t have, -not without you
here. Happy birthday to
you…happy birthday dear… Don’t get me wrong, -I mostly manage to
make it. And during the
hardest times, -I can usually fake
it. Form a smile, -though its been a
while Since the smile’s
been real. I’m still seeking
that something, -to finally make me
feel. Happy birthday-happy birthday-happy birthday dear... So this birthday
will come and pass, -and I can only
hope, that at last, This will be the
year I find it. The reason for the
mountain, And the reason to
climb it. These thoughts, they break inside my mind, and I wonder if its more than I can handle. Then I stare into the flame, and blow out the candles. Happy birthday to
you…[and many more!] © 2012 MachinaWriterAuthor's Note
