Have Hope

A poem about love and hope...

Please don’t forget me,

-don’t let me fade away.

Keep me in your heart,

   -think of me everyday.

 

We all want this.

To be recognized,

To not have to hide.

 

To be accepted for who we are,

-and loved for it, too.

To be praised for our actions,

      -and everything we do.

 

Don’t we deserve that?

It sounds like an absurd fact,

-but still true.

I want you to love me,

     -and I want to love you.

 

Dying isn’t what I fear.

Its fading away,

-because I never had you here.

I want someone to care for,

-and someone to remember.

When my last burning, dying ember,

-goes cold like the end of December.

 

But when I find her,

-I swear to this:

 

I’ll never forget,

-you’ll never fade.

I’ll keep you in my heart,

-in the place that I made,

        to keep you safe.

 

And the only thing I ask,

-is to have that, too.

We’ve both had troubled pasts,

-both me and you.

But we have each other.

And we have hope.

    We always, always   have hope.

I always believe that once you love someone, no matter the circumstances that separate you, that love is never lost in its entirety. We may move on but the memories never vanish. Those relationships make us, mold us into who we are and how we react . Keeping one safe somewhere in the heart is what makes them immortal. I’ll never forget,

It really shows that this is from the heart. It's absolutely beautiful, and once again, gives you that sense of, well, hope, and inspiration, that not many poems I read give anymore.
