She DancesA Poem by MachinaWriterA poem about letting go and finding happiness...She rises up- fearlessly She takes my hand- she says to me I’m ready now- oh can’t you see We can’t take this world so seriously I shake my head-I try to say It’s for a reason- it’s just the way The world works, but she steps away And she starts to dance All around the people stare But she just keeps dancing She doesn’t care She spins around just like a spark And it lights the fire in my heart And suddenly from the dark The people sing And the music it stays It rises up and it starts to slay The things that told us we’re all okay If we just settle down and hide away From what we really need Our childhood dreams Our hearts, our souls, and our need to scream Like she said Stop taking this world so seriously And I saw it there As she moved Against the beat, so gracefully, I need her here, please stay with me But I’ve always known She’s always here and we’ll be going home But not until she’s done dancing… © 2012 MachinaWriterAuthor's Note
