Breathless

A poem...

You've got me breathless
Frozen in place-but my heart is restless
It's beating my chest-I'm cardiac arrested

With veins pounding
Drums in my arm, now the bell's sounding
From the top of the church- cuz your love found me

And there will be no hesitation
No stop motion, no contemplation
No need to think, with the girl I'm facin'
Its a simple decision- but still my heart is racin'

And my tongue's heavy
Mumblin'
Breath quick and I'm strugglin'
Tryin' to think and I'm searchin'
For the right words, but I'm fumblin'
But when you smile-
-The constraints start crumblin'

I speak free, vows of love
What you mean to me
How my heart's in handcuffs
And I'm a detainee
Then with a simple kiss
You set me free
The words "I do", etched into my heart's key
