Cheap Whiskey

Cheap Whiskey

A Poem by Mackenzie R. Friday

the glass alone can reflect apart of myself
that otherwise would go unseen
it's rare that i find find myself in a place
i cannot turn into art
where words alone just do not suffice
and the rhythm is stopped by a simple thought

a smile

a smile that stretches across very single thing

you have no idea how far i have traveled
to be the hand on your face
the breath in your voice

when you choke
