First:BalanceA Story by Mac. SThe point of this post is to perhaps provide atleast someone with some peace of their feelings and potential imbalance in their life.
There's a balance between all emotions we feel, all the people we were and will be. There's a balance because none of those iterations, or those feelings and beliefs, are wrong. Rather, what is right is a compromise of them all for each situation. This is why I have a tendency to play devil's advocate.
I use to be a really big cynic for example, I hated everyone else so much I forgot how not to distance myself. Now, I would call myself a mixture of faith/idealism and cynicism. I try to look at a situation and decide what is best. I've done that my entire life, reading situations and applying whatever tools I was limited to. Emotions can control us but still be restrained, a balance of emotion/reason and logic/realism. I often think cynics are naive, because I've been in similar shoes and watched people never grow out of it and live miserably. Love for an example, to me, beyond a chemical is the decision to trust someone fully. And knowing even if you do fail, you'll be okay cause you learned and gave yourself a chance at happiness again. This is a very idealistic belief added onto some science and human ability to control decisions. You come to a point and think "Should I let myself love and trust in this person?" To focus on cynicism, realism, skepticism and reason, idealism, and emotion even more. If you're too skeptical you'll be too distant from the train of opportunity to catch it. If you're too idealistic you'll be too close and not see it when it rolls over you with everyone else onboard. Some people find this balance easier than others, more natural and some have to go through more experience to find it. It's not a matter of "intelligence", "wisdom", privilege, or lack thereof. We're all just built differently. That plus our enviroment playing operation with our brains our entire life make us vastly different. And notice I put quotes on those two words because I don't think getting a 100 in math means your smart just means you pickup faster or care more. Intelligence and wisdom are slightly different but the jist for me is ability to finding a balance, and still recognising you could easily be wrong. This got off-track (woot and opportunity for more train analogies). Well, now that I think I've exhausted myself and said just about everything I can without making more s****y analogies, I'm gonna call this done. © 2018 Mac. SAuthor's Note
