Choices

A Poem by Madeline Derujinsky

Sometimes I feel like my whole life has just been a ballot box of big dreams.
I think of something I want to do and file it off somewhere.
I realize one day I’m going to have to open the box and tally the votes on what I have dreamt of the most.
but do I have to open it up at 17?
Do I have to base my entire life on one vote?

No, and No.
Do not have to open it up at 17, and do not have to base entire life on one vote.

Veto here lol

God, I don't even want to remember my dreams at 17. I think I still thought I could be in the NBA!

I like the extended metaphor here. Works well with the title.
