Chapter One

Chapter One

A Chapter by mayhemical
"

This is a little bit more into the book I'm writing, before you read this, please read the prologue before reading anything else.

"

There was a girl named Faith. She could be a beautiful girl, but she didn't take care of herself. Faith was chubby, 148 pounds and 5'2". She had dark brown hair that almost looked black. She was very pale, and had light brown eyes. Her face was very oily, but she wouldn't take care of it, her hair was always a mess.

Now if you saw Faith before she had so many different things happen to her you would of saw her beauty, you would of been able to see how perfect she was. When she took care of her self she was fairly skinny, and looked taller then she really was. She would put streaks in her hair, either blonde, caramel, or a shade of red. She was still pale, but she liked being pale, her eyes looked beautiful, she would wear black eyeliner, and dark color eye shadow, usually mixed with black, white, and purple, or neon. Her face was still oily but she was acne free. Her hair was usually completely straight. In a few words, Faith had looked cute, but in a mysterious way.

Faith and her twin sister Aimee couldn't get along no matter what. Aimee was the pretty, preppy, cheerleading girl who was always happy go lucky. Aimee had blonde hair and blue eyes. She was tan, skinny only about 129 pounds and 5'9. She didn't have a figure from being so skinny, but almost every boy tried to go out with her.

Faith was like Aimee for a while but then when they were thirteen Faith had two good friends who had taken advantage of her. Her friends Melantha and Vega one day got together and scared Faith into doing things she didn't want to do. Melantha suggested that they would play truth or dare and Vega was encouraging it. Faith didn't really want to play because she was scared of what she would be dared to do or what she would have to confess but she said yes out of peer pressure. Melantha and Vega made up a trick so Faith would do anything she was told to do or confess anything she asked of, Melantha, Vega, and Faith all "poked a hole through God's eye" and Faith thought that she was really was going to Hell if she didn't do everything now, she didn't want to even play truth or dare and now she felt sucked into it. Things would start off small like Melantha would say something like "I dare Vega to kiss Faith." It stopped with daring to lick each other where a liquid would come out.

Faith had learned a lot about people, and about the world. She thought she had learned lifes most important lesson, but she learned a lesson that wasn't true because of her father. Faith thought that you weren't supposed to trust anyone, because the world is just there to do anything to hurt you. Faith would just ignore everyone, because she didn't want to have anymore pain did she already had. Sometimes Faith has flashbacks of all the things that have happened.

Faith was very close to her mother, but her mom worked, because her father didn't so Faith rarely saw her mother. Her father was unemployed but her father and her had a terrible relationship. It figured to her that the parent she didn't like is the one she would have to spend time with. Faith and her father were nothing alike, he was the party type and she was shy as could be, he didn't want to do anything but talk and she couldn't be around people without feeling awkward. Her mother on the other hand didn't party, and she didn't talk nonstop. Faith felt like she really was a younger version of her mother.

Faith had went through a colorful past and because of that she had made some poor decicions. Faith thought that if she felt physical pain her emotional pain would disappear so she liked to bite herself. Nobody told Faith what could had happened, everything that she learned about that she learned by herself. She didn't even let anyone know she had an addiction. Faith had tried a few different methods of self injury, she starved herself, made herself vomit, and cut herself, but she really only felt normal when she bit and burned herself.

Since then Faith had put on a gothic appearance. She wouldnt wear anything but black. She didn't wear make up but was naturally very pale. She never smiled but never had a sad face either, it was an empty look. She basically made the world think that she doesn't care what you do and who you do it too, even if you were going to hurt her.

On the inside though, Faith had been a sweet, lovely, innocent girl. You wouldn't believe how many emotions at once she felt and wouldn't show. She was just too scared to show her emotions thinking that the world would do something to hurt her again. Faith would feel loved, angsty, happy, and unstable all at once. Faith had let her emotions out when she was by herself by playing electrical guitar. Faith didn't think she was any good and the only person that knew she played didn't know she was any good because she was more into pop, hip hop, rap, etc. The truth was that Faith was amazing at playing the guitar!

It's a good beginning, but it describes too much. More dialog would be better for books. Also, making some, but not too much action would make it so that readers are hooked from the beginning.

Well, I wish it was a little longer, but it's still a good start. I love stories about high school for some odd reason, mine wasn't very exciting. As some constructive criticism, I would pay stricter attention to punctuation. Most of it is good, but there are some places you seem to slip. I'll be watching this story.
