When I Fall

We always pry our hands away
From the cold desire
The lust will never take control
We don't give in to the fire

But what if that
Was all to be changed

I did what was wrong
At least I can admit it
At least I make the best mistakes
At least I fall gracefully

You can't take away from me
What is rightfully mine
When I fall
At least I fall all the way

Lust seems to frequently take control of the majority of us, whether you’re a child tempted by candy or an adult tempted by some vice.

I think perhaps you’re struggling with the desires of the flesh and frustrated by those who refuse to admit when they’ve been taken by their desires.

It feels like you take some comfort in the fact that you at least are able to admit when you’ve given in to your lusts. It also sounds like you’re rebuking the lukewarm individuals who neither walk uprightly nor fall, but rather stumble in between both. Better to be hot or cold than to be lukewarm, seems to be your reasoning.

Personally I find little comfort in acknowledging that I have a problem opposed to those who flat out deny it, as we both still fall short of having victory of the desires of the flesh. In the end it’s better to not fall at all, to resist and walk without stumbling. At least, this is how the read made me feel. *smiles kindly* am I close?

Hm... A poem you have to read a few times before really getting it. I like poems like that. I also love where there are so many ways to interpret them. Everyone would see them differently. I have an idea in my head of what this could be about, but I'm not quite sure. Either way, nice poem, Ki! :)
