Take Your Best Shot

Take Your Best Shot

A Poem by M. Lay
"

Why parents should grow up before they have children of their own

"

I'm not sure that you've felt it

The pain that I feel now

The anger at myself

As I lie on this ground

I could've seen it coming

Now it seems pathetic

Now that I am helpless

When this wasn't expected

Now time is my weapon

As its my only friend

I feel it more than you do

I'll last until the end

There's something you should notice

From the time that I've been around

Your blows have never stunned me

So they'll never keep me down
