Nearly Gone

Nearly Gone

A Poem by Morgan Yai

Will you be my lighthouse
As I drown here
Alone
Motionless
For I wish not to be saved

The fear is not enough
To stop me here
Falling
And waiting
I want to wish to be saved

Can you help me, save me
Is it possible?
Crying
Still hoping
That Someone will hear my pleas

If only I had the strength
To wish to stay

going from wishing not to be saved to wishing someone might help the speaker wish to be saved...
we need to want to stay....i see someone contemplating suicide...looking, searching madly for a reason to stay...to want to stay...to not want to do it...
and hopefully the speaker will find that before it is too late.
