Missing You

Missing You

A Poem by Morgan Yai

The days grow long without you here
I wish you were next to me
I'd whisper in your ear
"Oh how I love you"
"I never want this to end"
And maybe my dreams would still be true

I remember, before you left me
You were sure that this could last
You and me could be we
And I trusted you
From that day until now
I have been stuck to you like glue

Sometimes I wish we had never met
But when I think back I know
It was for the best, yet
I learned much from you
When you left, I understood
The things I never thought I knew

You taught me to be confident
You taught me to love myself
Your love was evident
But I no longer need you
Contrary to my belief
By myself, I could make it through

It's sad when relationships which looked promising, come to an end. We do learn from them though and we do retain the good memories. I enjoyed the rhyme scheme in your writing and your lines flowed with ease. Nicely conveyed.

We live and we learn through others touching our lives, and even when we becomes two singulars again, their echoes still resonate within us. One day we will be grateful for their touch, once the pain departs. We make it, we need to.

Such sweet, painful longing. Even though life hurts at times, it's important to learn and move on, even if you can't forget.
