You Were Here

You Were Here

A Poem by Morgan Yai

Sometimes I look up
And I don't see
What I thought
Was there.
All I see
Is anything
And everything
Reminding me
That you were here.

The days are long
And heaven knows
Much time
Is gone.
I listen
To this sweet song
And remember
The times
When you were here.

I know I should say
That I miss you
Because of course
I do.
But I also know
That happiness
Is still with you
Just like
When you were here.

This poem has an unusual structure. It reminds me of the way I structured my poems when I very first started writing poetry. I'm not saying your poem is amateurish or anything of the sort - I'm just making an observation. As for the contents of the poem. . . Relatable, emotional, reminiscent. Interesting work. Keep on writing.

This poem really shows emotion. I can relate to your writing, it's really rough missing someone. You expressed it well through your writing.
