Softened Hearts

Softened Hearts

A Poem by M Walser

my love rests her
china doll head
in my arms
to the end of times

our times

delicate porcelain
in my grasp
handled with care are her
fragile perceptions

running together
hand in hand
our lives slipping through
printless fingertips
running faster to
beat the fall

autumnal sun rises on
yellow horizons
showcase 2nd chances
each slate now clean
winter comes and subsides

our hearts thaw in the warmth
of the noonday.
